How to Use this Website
Including Content Structure and Dark Mode
1. Website Structure
This website analyses the symbolism present in popular culture, the concepts and doctrines behind those symbols, and the worldviews to which those symbols and doctrines belong to.
It is structured as a combination of certain Foundational Articles that sketch the big picture, plus an ongoing and ever growing list of more Specialized Articles with a more limited scope. The Specialized Articles may talk about specific symbols, movies, video games, metaphysical doctrines and worldviews, among other topics.
The Foundational Articles, if sequentially read, serve as a summary to the whole argumentation and conclusions present in this website. They are composed of Introductory and Main Articles, as well as the Discussion and Conclusion Articles present in the Worldviews section. Introductory Articles may be less complex than the others, even though aiming at clarity in all articles is one of the core principles of this site.
Introductory Articles include the “Introduction to The Metaphysical Compass” article, which is intended as the first stop and welcome station for the whole website. It can be found by clicking the Start Here button located in the Main Menu. The whole series of Foundational Articles can be read sequentially from there:

Introductory Articles also include the articles under each main section in the Home Page. For example, the one under the Symbolism section can be seen below:

This site is composed of four main sections: Symbolism, Metaphysics, Worldviews and Additional Resources. They can be accessed via the Main Menu. The Additional Resources section includes an Annotated Bibliography, a Reading List and a useful Glossary:

The Main Articles are present at the beginning of the Metaphysics and Worldviews sections and discuss the Main Categories of which the Specialized Articles are a narrower but deeper expansion:

The Specialized Articles can be found just after the main ones in the Home Page, and they can be filtered using the header´s subcategories:

2. Ways of Using this Website
This website can be used in two ways:
- Starting from the Particular and going towards General Principles:
This is for people who may be interested in the symbolism of a particular work (e.g., a particular movie or video game), but may later find interesting the frequency and consistency of the repeating symbolic patterns that are found across different works. They may then proceed to investigate the general principles behind them. This is the inductive way.
- Starting from General Principles and going towards the Particular:
This is for people of a deductive nature, who would find it better to first read sequentially the whole set of Foundational Articles. This can be done by just following the Start Here button in the Main Menu.
These users could later read Specialized Articles regarding a particular doctrine, symbol, movie, etc. that interested them in order to see examples of how these generalized principles are actualized in concrete contemporary works.
3. The Structure of Blog Posts
Review Posts are used for movies and video games, and they include a numerical score evaluation of their Symbolic and Metaphysical Value:

A summary and the principal symbols, concepts and promoted worldviews, if any, present in that particular work can be found following the score. Clicking each Tag shows all the works that contain that specific symbol, worldview or metaphysical concept:

The body of the posts may contain “accordion” sections (identified by the plus sign on the right) which, once opened by clicking on them, provide additional information on the particular topic at hand:
