Jonathan Torralba
With half his time focused on science and engineering, and the other half fixated on the completely
different but equally abstract concepts of mystical, esoteric, and religious worldviews, Jonathan
decided to launch The Metaphysical Compass Project (book and website) in order to make it easier to
understand these complex and increasingly popular topics.
Dissatisfied with the answers he found in the academic world, and after more than twenty years exploring
the philosophy, metaphysics, and the solutions given by the different worldviews to the deepest and
most complex questions in life, Jonathan conceived this project as a tool that provides a systematic
and in-depth discussion on these matters, going beyond a mere introductory level.
The Metaphysical Compass is especially suitable for abstract and logically-minded people that, even if
they are interested in such metaphysical issues, find it difficult to see the appeal of traditional spiritual
or religious arguments.
This is because, while traditional arguments are usually more emotional in nature, this project aims at
unraveling the fundamental philosophical questions underlying these matters.
Questions as basic as, for example, the problem of the One and the Many and its various solutions as
proposed by the different worldviews, especially the uniquely non-dialectical one offered by Orthodox
Christianity.
